iv. PREFIX DESCRIPTIONS
1. Telescopic
1.1 Purpose
This certificate describes requirements for assigning numbers to SLAC Engineering documents and is intended that this organisation be compatible with car programming systems.2. General
2.1 Applicable Documents
None3. REQUIREMENTS
3.i Format
All Engineering documents shall bear a unique identification number consisting of five groups: (1) a two letter of the alphabet prefix, (2) a three digit number, (3) a 2nd three digit number, (4) a two digit suffix, and (5) the letter R, C, or Due east followed past i or two digits. These 5 components shall be separated past dashes.Example: | PF- | 123- | 456- | 78- | R9 |

1. Two Character Prefix: An advisable Prefix from the Canonical Prefix List (beneath) indicating the type of drawing.
2. First iii-digit number: This is the first role of the hyphenated SLAC six-digit base of operations number arrangement and shall signify the originating division department, group, or individual as determined from blocks of numbers as assigned by SLAC Certificate Command.
3. Second 3-digit number: This is the 2d role of the hyphenated SLAC 6-digit base number system and shall signify a detached portion of the assigned work of a division, department, group, or individual as assigned by SLAC Certificate Command.
4. Two-digit suffix: This suffix shall be assigned by the originating division, department, grouping, or individual to distinguish one assembly, sub-assembly, or part from another.
v. The Revision character: The purpose of this character is to identify each revision or change of any part of an engineering document:
- For all manually produced documents:
- R shall be used to indicate Revision e.g., R0.
- For documents produced by the CAD System:
- for IGDS (Microstation) files, C shall be used,
- for EMS (Intergraph EMS) files, East shall be used, e.grand., C0 and E0
three.2 Approved Prefix Listing

3.three Special Cases
1. Certain engineering science documents, such as cartoon lists or material lists, oft have more than 1 sheet or page with the same number. Each sheet or folio shall be designated by using Sheet 1 of 2 or Page 1 of 10, whichever may exist applicable.3.4 Typical Document Numbering System - GENERAL

three.6 Multiple Canvas Revision Process
Revisions to multiple canvass drawings shall be accomplished past completing the revision block on Canvass 1 to document all changes to whatever canvas in the multiple group. All sheets shall acquit the aforementioned revision number as Sheet 1.4. PREFIX DESCRIPTIONS
Advertisement - ASSEMBLY DRAWING (TOP Associates) - ELECTRONICS
The AD Drawing (Summit Assembly) shall always accept the suffix 00, i.east., AD-123-456-00. The Tiptop Assembly is the highest level of assemblies for a detail projection. The Projection should be defined past the engineer or the group supervisor. The Tiptop Assembly volition consist of all SA drawings, PF fabricated parts, hardware and any purchased items that have not been called out on another sub-assembly.AD - Assembly Drawing (Meridian Assembly) - MECHANICAL
An AD Cartoon for the Mechanical Design Group does not accept to end with the suffix -00. The AD cartoon is the elevation-most assembly drawing of an assembly.EXAMPLES:

AP - Authoritative PROCEDURE

A Block Diagram mostly starts at the top or left side, and progresses down or to the right.CA - Cablevision DRAWING
An assembly drawing of a cable indicating overall dimensions including or excluding terminators, tolerances, connectors or terminals, special assembly instructions, and applicable tests if required.CD - CIRCUIT Description

Component values are not on an FS.GP - GENERAL PURPOSE
A drawing that fits no specific prefix such as a site programme or general arrangement for a report project, almost by and large non intended for structure or installation.HC - HYBRID Excursion
A drawing representing a hybrid circuit artwork to exist used as a circuit prototype for reference or to produce films for fabrication.ID - INSTALLATION DRAWING
1. Mechanical Type -The Installation drawing pulls together all AD Top Assemblies, SA Subassemblies, PF Fabricated Part drawings, purchased parts and hardware needed to complete the installation of a detail component into the system. The drawing should show reference/locating dimensions and have any special notes to help the installer. This drawing is the starting point for tracking downwards the proper replacement parts by the installers.
2. Facilities Blazon Drawing -
A drawing shows all the necessary information and pertinent dimensions necessary to install a device or arrangement. It may be used to install a magnet or an instrument, or for facilities type drawings for buildings, utilities, and such, quite often accompanied by a "PS", Purchase Specification, (exterior procurement), or by an "IS", Installation Specification.
IM - INSTRUMENT Manual
A certificate which completely and explicitly details all the necessary steps to operate or assemble a device or system.IS - INSTALLATION SPECIFICATION
A certificate which specifies work procedures, standards of quality of materials and workmanship for installation of equipment or facilities.LD - LOGIC DIAGRAM
A drawing showing by ways of graphic symbols the sequence and part of logic circuitry.LO - LAYOUTS
Layout drawings that would non otherwise be released. ie. 3D CAD Models, Ray Trace Studies and System layouts longer than 12'.ML - Cloth Listing
A document listing all the materials necessary for the fabrication and assembly of a device, chassis, system, etc. Simply Sheet I carries the revision notation but all subsequent sheets carry the revision number.NC - NUMERICAL Control TAPE
A paper or mylar record certificate generated on the figurer or CADD System used for motorcar control for the fabrication of a printed excursion board, sheet metal parts, and for the fabrication of machined parts for mechanical devices.OF - Part FORM
A grade to be used as a main for producing various standard format sheets.PB - PATCH BOARD
A certificate showing patch lath connections. Used primarily in the Primary Injector.PC - PRINTED Circuit
A drawing representing a circuit board artwork to exist used as a circuit image for reference or to produce films for fabrication.PD - PIPING AND INSTRUMENTATION DIAGRAM (P&ID)
A cartoon showing all equipment, valves, instruments and devices of a mechanical excursion. Period arrows are indicated likewise equally line sizes and numbers. Ordinary fittings are not necessarily shown.PF - FABRICATED Function

A certificate which specifies standards of quality of material, devices or equipment for buy past the SLAC Purchasing Department.PT - Programme Table
A certificate used in the programming of programmable devices such as integrated circuits.QC - QUALITY CONTROL STANDARD
A document which describes the minimum requirements for the manufacturing, assembling and workmanship in furnishing electrical, electronic, mechanical, or full general parts or equipment.QT - QUALIFICATION Examination PROCEDURE
A certificate or drawing which shows or describes a specific process for testing a new or untried manufacturing or operating procedure.RD - REPAIR DESCRIPTION
A document or drawing which shows or describes a specific procedure for effecting repairs to a device, instrument or piece of equipment.RL - RUNNING Listing
A listing of point-to-signal excursion connections to facilitate wiring, checkout, and maintenance of a device, panel or system.SA - SUBASSEMBLY
one. A cartoon taking PF fabricated parts, other assemblies and/or purchased parts and fastening them together to create another assembly.ii. A weldment type drawing with divide PF fabricated parts and/or purchased parts called out on the drawing.
SC - SPECIFICATION CONTROL DRAWING
A drawing which indicates design and fabrication parameters for a part, organization or a piece or equipment. Information technology will accompany either a Purchase Specification (PS) or a Purchase Requisition.SD - SCHEMATIC DIAGRAM
A schematic or simple diagram shows by ways of graphic symbols the electric connections and functions of a specific excursion arrangement. Assigned to Gold Deck.TF - TOOLING FIXTURE
The prefix TF is used instead of the Prefix SA (subassembly) when designing tooling fixtures. The Prefix PF will still be used for made parts to exist used in the Tooling Fixture.TI - TRUNK INTERCONNECT
